I really was interested when I first heard about this book. It seemed like something I could possibly like given the sort of mystery/spy kind of themes happening. But unfortunately, I should have stuck with my guy and known this just wouldn’t be for me. That’s not to say that anybody else wouldn’t enjoy it, I just didn’t find myself interested the way I normally am when reading thrillers.
Perhaps I didn’t click with the main character, or maybe the writing didn’t gel with me. There was a ton of exposition, most of it needless and unwarranted. It completely ruined the pacing, for me at least.
I think I might give it another go in the future as it wasn’t a horrible book. Maybe I need to be in the right mindset to read it. I’ll give it a few months or so.
