The writing paints a pretty picture of the scenery here, but there's no action, no hook, nothing but descriptions. The "he did this, then he did that" nature of the writing (telling not showing) didn't make me want to read it. If I picked this one up in a library or bookstore I would put it back down after just a few long-winded description sentences.
