I'm not sure what it is exactly about this book but I can tell from the sneak peek we get that it's just not for me. I admit I tend to like morally grey characters but this character just seems more black than grey to me and that sometimes makes books like this hard to read. However, with some fantastic writing/plot I can still love and appreciate a book even if it's not my usual cup of tea. But the writing feels ... distant if that makes sense. I'm unable to properly click or connect to the story in a way where I'm drawn in and want to keep reading. For me, this just doesn't work.
