This was such a sad heartbreaking but also heartwarming book. I have always found World War II stories very interesting, and they always do make me cry. There is just something about that makes me hurt. This had that, and it had children. Little children in war. Which is honestly just worse.

This book had fabulous writing, the imagery was soo good, it was my favorite part of the book. And I really loved how the characters views on life and such moves with the book, the transition from being a child to an adult was really interesting to read.

I just felt that this book left me with too many questions, and not enough answers. And part four of it was so different from the rest of the book.

The part about the book I found the most heartbreaking was that these characters did exist. They were real people, and knowing that just truly added to this book. If you’re a fan of historical books, this is a must read!
