Wow, I don't read too much historical fiction, but I loved this! The writing is accessible and I felt an immediate connection to Amerigo. This period of history is new to me and I was fascinated. The writing is filled with details that really flesh out the scene and put you in the mindset of a young child. I certainly felt Amerigo's nervousness over where he was going! I'm curious about what will happen to Amerigo next.
