I grew up in a household of Dutch WWII survivors, hearing terrible stories from my grandparents. This first look reminds me of them and the pain they themselves experienced. I worry that memories like these will be forgotten, which is why books like this one are so terribly important. I would be honored to read this book and I hope it is ready by many.
