This story, which was translated from Italian, has an intriguing plot. Children sent North to stay with families to escape the war in their town. I found that interesting and was surprised I had never heard this before. I knew about orphan trains but not this type of train. My favorite part was the main character being concerned about his shoes and not wanting to wear other people's shoes. I was wondering some of the things that seemed to be rules on this train like the taking of the children's coats. I'm wondering why. Perhaps I can read and find out everything about this and see what becomes of the main character.
