The cover of The Children’s Train gives off the somber vibes right away. It’s grey toned and the child definitely looks sad or dreary at least. The first look is well written, but it’s definitely a child’s perspective written by an adult, of living in poverty after the war. I think that anyone who enjoys historical fiction will probably enjoy this story. It’s not for me, but it is well written and keeps you wanting more in the first look.
