I adore that the book is written in the prespective of a child. How he thinks about life in shoes and points.I'm intrigued to learn what happens after he joins the stranger on the bus; whom already is calling him "son". I still can not comprehend the concept of how it must have been for the mothers of so many children to make that decision and how scared the children must have felt. My mouth actually open when they announced they would like to capture this moment of departure in a picture!! I assume the moms would be embarrassed but their actions of making sure they looked good with rosy cheeks and all ; it really surprised me!
