The Children’s Train is based on true events that take place after World War 2. Amerigo is living in Naples with his mother. Soon, he hears about a rescue mission- The Children's Train who transfer children from south to up north for a better chance at life. Even if it is temporary. Amerigo reaches Modeno where there is food, warmth, school, music, farming. When he returns to Naples after 6 months he definitely misses Modena and can clearly see where his home is lacking.
