The Children's Train is the second WWII historical fiction that I've had the opportunity to read or peruse. After reading one that is set in the UK, this one just had too much of a familiarity wherein the children are all sent away into the country to protect them from harm. What happens to those children displaced often has long term ramifications.
One can only guess how Amerigo will fare. I'm hoping that it's not as much as a emotional roller coaster as some other WWII historical fiction novels.
