I'll never see a pair of shoes the same again

My heart goes to all the kids. Their optimistic and simplistic view of the world is just too pure and heartbreaking. They don't understand the world around them or the situation they are in, and are easily persuaded by new shoes and promises of chocolate. As I'm reading I get increasingly grateful for my many pairs of shoes and easily accessible chocolate bars. After reading the first impression, I am very conscious of my abundance. I'm pleasantly startled that a fictional story can give me a whole new perspective of my life! I want to read on to see if Amerigo will ever get the shoes he watnted.
