This is so well-written and my heart immediately goes out to young Amerigo and the harsh realities of his life. I want to see what kind of man he grows up to become. This is a side of WWII that is rarely told, from a children's perspective, and I would relish the opportunity to read this book. I always love well-researched historical fiction!
