I love that this book is based on true events! A young boy is stuck in a poverty-stricken land after WW2 and is forced to go live with a foster family in Modena. What he finds there is shocking. A better existence on a farm he loves. I want to know what will happen to Amerigo when he's forced back to his hometown.
