A classic teen rom-com (not too original, but deeply enjoyable)

Despite the fact that I've realized I'm an old prude for being scandalized at how some teens probably act, this was actually a pretty enjoyable teen rom-com. I can totally see it as a made-for-TV movie or spring flick for teens and how it would probably resonate with people of all ages. The themes of finding yourself, peer-pressure, and just all-around dreadful insecurity of high school are something that I'm sure anyone can relate to.
Keely is a mess of insecurities, but her close friendships and willingness to put herself out there make you want to root for her. The typical teenage dramas also taking place around her add an extra element of realism and 'relatableness.'
And going back to my being an old prude, I admit to being unsure of the message of losing one's virginity before leaving high schools but all my doubts were resolved by the end of the book... Mostly. So if that's the thing that's keeping you from reading, give it a chance and you just might enjoy the positive message resolution.
