Very realistic -- perhaps too realistic?

I really liked the author's style and thought the dialogue and actions of the characters in the book preview were very realistic. That said, as a high school librarian, I don't think I can promote this book to my students. The first scene of the book is of the main character walking in on one of her friends having sex during her birthday party, and there's enough description of what she's witnessing that readers can probably picture it in their own minds. While well-written and relatable to high school students, I don't think I can recommend this one...
