With such a cute, bright cover I wasn't expecting to be dropped directly into snowy late-winter Vermont, but it's spring semester, the beginning of the end of the senior year, so it makes sense. The setup is familiar: senior girl feels like she's the last virgin left in her world (ugh... I could do without this), she meets a cute college boy (who seems to wave several red flags during their initial conversation), and is about to turn to her longtime best friend for some practical lessons (friends-to-lovers catnip anyone?). The MC is relatively self-aware but seems to be falling for that virginity claptrap, pretty appropriately annoyed with her H.S. cohorts, and has a fun dynamic with the best friend in a way that reminds me of a Becky Albertalli or Jenny Han character — so I'm hopeful for enough character growth and comedy in this romcom that the dumb virginity part disappears, making it a fun read.
