High school, for so many, is that golden time in their lives that they love to look back on and relive over and over again. The time when they were young, fit, popular, and still dreaming about everything the future would hold for them.

But high school, in the moment, is awkward and scary and stressful and frustrating. Even the popular dreamers are simply trying to do their best to get through it and get to the future them.

What I love about this book is that it's a kind of behind-the-scenes look at all those gritty moments of high school. Good, bad, or indifferent, what Keely and her friends experience, talk about, attempt, are real things that are so easy to relate to. I think many readers will enjoy this book. It may make some nervous with its focus on sexual activity, but what good is a journey if it doesn't challenge you?
