I remember reading this on wattpad years ago, so I was pretty excited and surprised to see this book on BookishFirst! While it's definitely not the most well-written novel portraying super healthy relationships, I think it can still be very enjoyable if you go into The Bad Boy's Girl knowing what to expect. Don't expect some groundbreaking commentary on toxic high school relationships (although I don't know why you would expect that haha), and remember that it came from a popular fan-fiction website. If you know all of that, then this would feel like reading a corny and campy teen drama like Riverdale or 13 Reasons Why.

In terms of characters, the main character Tessa was pretty annoying, but I think she grew by the end of the story. She learned a lot over the course of the book, and she also goes through some tough shit (like her parents getting a divorce and some pretty intense bullying). I recommend looking up the trigger warnings for this book because there were some scenes I wish I knew about beforehand, so I caution you guys to do that.

Overall, this was a fun read to pass the time. Enjoyable, but nothing revolutionary.
