Even in the first sentence I was a little thrown off by the reference to the previous book’s cliff hanger. I am not one to jump into the middle of the series and it is unlikely I will invest in the first two before reading this one. I would be more interested in doing so if they plot of the first novel did not revolve around them in high school. I was also not drawn to the cover as it registers as YA to me.
