The Art of Escaping was a very unique and intriguing book. It took me a while to get into it, but I ended up enjoying it. The main character is Mattie, who is completely obsessed with escapology, but she has to keep her obsession hidden from the world! She seeks out Miyu, who is the daughter of a famous escape artist. And they work together underground to turn Mattie into an escape artist. She absolutely loves it! And then a popular boy from school sees her, and she doesn’t him to expose her secret, so he tells her a deep dark secret and they end up building a friendship. They both have secrets, that they do not wait to share with anyone, let alone the world. This books has some slow spots in the story, and it also has some twists and turns along the way. It was a great read.
