I was initially drawn to this book by the cover and then the first look drew me in further. The voice in this book is well written, but it was not my cup of tea. Getting past that, the story was interesting and kept you moving. The characters were relatable and fairly well developed. Pretty good as far as debut novels go. I like the fact that there was no romance but some people will want that in this novel to add a bit of something to the story.
The issues discussed in the book are important, although not all were dealt with equally. Overall, I enjoyed the book and the concept was great and could have been fantastic with a bit more expansion and development. Thanks for the opportunity to read a unique book on escapism.
