I have never read one of E.K. Johnston's books before. That has now changed since getting this novel into my hands. I couldn't wait to rip open the package when I first got the book and that stayed with me as I read page after page of greatness. This book is filled with so much emotion and heart. I'm not really one to read a lot of fantasy novels but this one was so different than what I've ever read when it comes to fantasy. The characters were relateable, even in this fantasy world, especially when it comes to diversity and romance. I love that the story is full of strong female characters willing to fight for what they believe in and what they believe is right for others. The struggle that these women go through on their quest is full of hope and endearment. Amazing read!
