Confusing but Interesting
The Afterward jumps back and forth from an epic adventure to the aftermath. I like the premise. The author is attempting to tell two stories at once through flashbacks. The story switches between second and third person quite a bit, which can be a bit confusing. Also, the gender of the characters can be confusing as well at first, until you realize that "Sir" does not mean male, it is the title for a knight.
However, even with those slightly confusing issues, the story does look promising and it does seem to be quite interesting as the story unfolds. I think I will like going on this adventure with the characters.
Book Cover
I like the powerful look of the women on the cover of the book. I am normally not a fan of illustrated covers, but this one helps to set up the story quite well.
