Ted Bell, who may or may not be the real Ted Bell, is witness to a murder to a woman named Anna. Did he really see her murder? Who is Anna? No one else seems to know Anna. And who is the "crow man" who appears to give Ted Bell a warning? What is going on? I want to know more about these characters. And i want to know who Anna is. I am also very intrigued by the man in black who appears. And what does this have to do with Evelyn Hardcastle? She is the character in the title but had not yet appeared in the book. This is an intriguing premise and I want to read more. I love the writing as well. The description of rat polson in the corners and frayed rugs give a great hint to the decrepit house and possibly the family. Can't wait to read more
