Don’t be fooled by the premise. This is not the same old redo on the current Groundhog Day trend. It is distinctly unique but I can’t tell you much more without ruining a few surprises.

The book seems like a jigsaw puzzle that was mixed up in a box with another jigsaw puzzle. None of the pieces seem to fit properly. It’s frustrating. It’s baffling. I just didn’t see how it could possibly work.

Stuart Turton’s meticulously crafted tale proved to be an entertaining, interesting, and a joyfully confusing read. It left me guessing at every turn and, for the most part, it was not remotely predictable. And even though a solution seems impossible, once you get there, it makes perfect sense.

I loved the author’s thoughtful and poetic language. This book contains far more depth than the average mystery. He has a commendable talent and I will gladly pick up whatever else he produces in the future.
