This book came out right around The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, and talk about "confusing takes" - I thought Evelyn Hugo was a thriller and this was a contemporary or historical romance for the LONGEST time! I was excited to learn of my mistake, though, when I discovered this was a taut, absorbing thriller. The one thing I would ding 7 1/2 Deaths on is its pacing - it starts off very slow, but Turton takes a while to really get you into the setting. There are a lot of ground rules for him to cover with you, and those aren't quick to go over. Once you are entrenched in the storyline. The characters were over the top in the best way possible, and the pacing overall lead to a solid conclusion. I recommend to any Christie fan.
