Where to even begin with this book? My initial thought was "Groundhog's Day" meets "The Westing Game" or an Agatha Christie novel. And just when I thought I'd figured it out...majorly unexpected plot twist.

The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle is fast paced and keeps you on your toes. With a narrator that's constantly switching "hosts" and a very nonlinear timeline, it's difficult to tell who can be trusted. Whose version of events is correct? Are the characters truly who they seem? The reader is left constantly guessing.

This book is a definite recommendation for anyone that loves a good mystery. After just seeing Knives Out in the theater, I was itching for a good mystery and this book definitely satisfied that itch. I enjoyed the characters, the constant guessing, the nonlinear timeline, and the plot twist at the end. While some have mentioned that this book is almost intolerably long, I think the ending makes it all worth it. Turton wraps everything up nicely in a very unexpected way.
