Wow... That was a pretty crazy ride! I think I'll go with 4 stars, this story was so intricately woven and I didnt see the ending coming (and I usually do).
This book is a mixture between Clue and a Agatha Christie novel with Sci-fi elements. The first half was a bit slow and dense and required a lot of focus to remember all the characters or "hosts". I didnt have much motivation to pick up this book during the first 50% but while reading it I did enjoy it. The second half really made this book great for me. I really enjoyed seeing the 8 hosts and how different their personalities were and how this, in turn, helps our main character solve the murder of Evelyn Hardcastle. I'm sure there are a ton of little Easter eggs I missed while reading this so it would probably be a good idea to reread this in the future.
I do think this book could have been a few hundred pages shorter BUT all in all... I'm impressed by how the author weaved the story and all its details together
