I really wanted to like this book. I'd heard mixed reviews about it before purchasing, but I figured that I would be on the side of people that were able to finish and enjoy it. However, it is incredibly slow paced, the main character is annoying, and I just had to put it down after page 75. I've tried picking it back up a few times since my initial read of it, but have been unsuccessful at finishing. The plot seems really interesting but slow to start and I think that is why it loses a lot of readers. The fact that they put a character list in the beginning was very helpful in those first few chapters, but certainly no where near enough to make me want to keep going. I guess I will never know who killed Evelyn Hardcastle, and that bothers me lol.
