I feel like I'm missing something

I've heard so much buzz about this book, and have seen BookTok posts about how much the poster loved, but I do not feel the same way. I did enjoy the concept of the book, but just couldn't get into it, even though I did finish it but it was a struggle to do so. I feel like this book needed to be condensed. That doesn't mean it needed fewer "days" to solve the mystery, but the Groundhog Day effect drew tiresome when if it were written with tighter story, I think it could've gone a lot better. The characters also came off as rather bland and two-dimensional. None of them interested me enough to care too much about what was happening or how it was happening.

I wish it had a faster pace, and characters that were convincing and enticing. But by the end I didn't care about the mystery the story was built around or how it was going to be solved. Maybe I was in a bad funk when I read it, but clearly not my thing.
