The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle was one of my Bookstagram made me do it books. There were things I really liked about it and then things that didn’t work so well for me, but I am really glad I read it because it was so different from everything else I’ve been reading.
I spent the majority of the first half of the book confused, which is the authors plan (at least I think it was🤣) but you start to gather bits and pieces and slowly put together the puzzle of the story. I don’t want to go into too much detail to risk any spoilers, but I felt like the concept of the book was super unique and interesting in a great way. I did feel like there were a few too many major plot twists and one of them detracted from the overall story for me which was disappointing. The ending left me feeling a little less satisfied with the book but I still quite enjoyed reading it. 3.5 stars rounded down to 3.
