This was an incredibly complex novel, it is hard to know how to rate it!
Positives: I loved the concept, the complexity of the story, uncovering everything as it came together - I spent most of the book completely confused which made uncovering things not rewarding
Negatives: a *lot* of fat shaming, rape as a no-big-deal plot device, some of the writing style was unnecessarily heavy, the ending...
The ending of the mystery was fine, but the ending of the book was very unsatisfying. The whole premise of the book was explained in a very perfunctory manner, and just left me... underwhelmed? It had so much potential, it could have been great but the execution was lacking. And the end of the book felt rushed and left me disappointed.
So all up probably a 3 or 3.5/5
