In the opening paragraphs the main character finds himself running through a forest and the only thing he remembers is the word “Anna.” A gunshot is heard and the main character runs. A man appears and puts something in his pocket and tells him to head East. The main character finds that the thing is a compass. What is happening? The opening makes me think that this book is going to be a Poe story.
