Wow. This four-chapter preview has left me as breathless as the character running through the forest!
The story begins in the middle of action and pulls the reader in immediately. The first person narrative keeps me in the main character’s head and leaves me as confused and frantic as he. My interest is greatly piqued.
Normally, I don’t like stories told in present tense but it works perfectly in this instance. Also, I don’t normally read mysteries, or stories with a male as the main character, but I definitely want to read the rest of this story.
