I saw this title on NetGalley and was interested after having read just the brief introduction they gave-- now, having read the first look I cannot wait to read this book. There is a level of mystery that has drawn me in even after just a few chapters. I know there is a magical element that is coming because of the inscription but what is the link between the memory loss, the people in the manor (the bird man included) and Anna? Isn't the death supposed to be "Evelyn Hardcastle"? Where is the Lady of the house--what has stopped her from greeting her perturbed guests? What caused the memory loss of Mr. Bell?
How many more questions can I type in this first look response before I run out of space? Because even with those few chapters I have so many questions. I want to know how things play out.
