I am a fan of Lynda la Plantes many books my favorite character is Jane Tennyson the books and the pbs series starring the glorious Helen Mirren.Reading about the very young Jane her beginnings her home life and her workplace.The difficulties of being a woman a young woman at that time in a very masculine oriented world& when Jane is punished banished to an outlying area again male chauvinistsand she gets her first murder case the tension the investigation begins,This is an engrossing next intimate involving look at the life of a young woman a police officer at that time a really unusual occupation the way she was treated her strong will to cope will follow her through her career an excellent back story to her career her personal life.This is also a really well written engrossing novel.
