This thriller pulls you right into the life of young Jane the recent police academy grad, on one of her first days working. I felt like the reader slides easily into the story, no long introductions here. Jane has a rough start of her day, but shows kindness to someone and sets the tone for her character. Her bosses seem to all subscribe to the same knuckle-dragging club of men, not endearing them to many readers to start with.
The atmosphere of the station is a busy one, and serious crimes are on the horizon for Jane. Will she find her place there as a police woman? Does she have enough spunk to deal with the bullies at the station?
