This book is a must read for those of us who liked the Prime Suspect series. This book is a wonderful trip back to 1973.
We get a fantastic introduction to DCI Jane Tennison. The world of the 1970s is well written, and we are provided an honest portrayal of the bullying and exploitation that existed at the time. Sexism was blatant and rampant. DCI Tennison endures a lot, and we get a peek into what created the tough skinned DCI Tennison we come to know in Prime Suspect ventures.
Jane Tennison is an iconic character, and the police procedurals written by Lynda La Plante are knock-out-of-the-park brilliant unputdownable books. The plot is quick, and this prequel is a page turner. Everything needed in a book that I could hardly wait to get my hands on!
