So excited to have the opportunity to read the first book of this series. This follows WPC Jane Tennison as she begins her career with the Metropolitan Police based in Hackney. This is one of the worst neighborhoods in London. Set in the 1970s Jane must not only face this dangerous career but she experiences sexism, discrimination, exploitation and bullying on a daily basis. She is also fighting a criminal world that is drastically changing. Gangs are more organized, harder drugs are sold, bribery and corruption are a daily occurrence. This doesn't stop Jane, with her talents and ambition she faces this world head on. Get ready for a fast moving, engaging and satisfying read. I can't wait for the next one!
