I was immediately drawn to this book because there was a quote from Karin Slaughter on it, who is one of my favorite authors. Add to it that it's a police, murder mystery, about a female cop, written by a female... I'm in! There was something a little off in the writing, and it's frustrating to me some of the things that Jane experiences since it takes place in the 70s, but that aside, I'm curious to read it and possibly more by this author.
