I think this has the makings of a good book. Murder mysteries are always fun, and throw in the complexities of being a female cop in the male-dominated 70s, sounds like a good book to me! I thought it started a bit slow, but it picked up in just a few pages, so that was nice. I think the protagonist seems like an interesting character; nice, but with ambition. I'm really excited to read this!
