This book really transported you back to the 60s and how different life was back then especially if you were a female. So different from the life I grew up in.
This was a heartfelt memoir of marylees struggles as a young teen finding herself in a situation that she had no say in. Meaning that she couldn’t keep her child cause her and his family wouldn’t let them get married at such a young age. And the fact that she had no choice in having to surrender her first son is sad. But it was also informative of the times and the impact of adoption of your life.
How even her own adoption had a profound impact on her. But despite all the things that were through at her she over come. She over cane giving her son up, raising 4 more kids, her husbands sudden death at 27 and then remarrying.
This was a great book on marylees reflection of her life, looking back at how she made it through.
