To be honest, I really enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. This was surprising because I usually only read YA fantasy/ YA fiction, not memoirs. The author’s writing style is very good and easy to follow. I liked that this book wasn’t super long or short. Marylee is a fantastic author and this book displayed that very well. The chapters aren’t super long and they don’t feel like they drag out. I don’t know if it is super common for memoirs/ biographies to include pictures (again, I don’t usually read this type of book), but i’m glad Marylee included some. It was very interesting to hear her experience growing up adopted, giving births and then giving the child up for adoption, and then eventually finding her son. The cover is very aesthetically pleasing to look at too. Thank you Marylee MacDonald and Bookishfirst for sending me a copy of this book!!
