I find adoption to be a very difficult concepts to process. While I understand the practicality in many cases, I struggle with the emotional end of adoption. However, I feel that MacDonald does an excellent job addressing both issues. Mothers who have experienced putting a child up for adoption and children who have been adopted might very well benefit from reading this novel. MacDonald’s writing is honest, interesting, and relatable whether you’ve experienced adoption or not.
