I loved the cover of the book, but it really doesn't match the content. Since the book is a memoir, perhaps a photo might have been better. In any event, I do enjoy reading memoirs and biographies, but they are primarily from famous people such as Tina Turner, Anthony Bourdain, etc. Not to say that Surrender isn't a good read, it's probably just that I couldn't connect with the author. Rating it three stars. I liked it.
