There was so much going on in the book that I couldn't help but feel for Marylee. Giving up a child when she was young and spending the rest of her life woryring about how her baby turned out.
Then the session with her husband, him getting offered the job of his dreams and her not wanting to move to Phoenix with him. Its hard to tell who was right and who was wrong in that situation. Her reasoning for not wanting to return to Phoenix was completely understandable. Its where she gave up her baby boy for adoption.
Her regret at giving up her boy seems to ring strong throughout the pages of the book. You can feel her heartbreak with each word and her emotional struggle.
