Love and Loss
From the very first chapter, there is an emotional grip that sort of binds you to the book. I cannot imagine losing a loved one at such an early age. By the end of the second chapter, you start to develop strong feelings of empathy for Marylee. She comes out as a very strong and self-reliant woman when she allows her husband to pursue his dream in a different city, away from her, living her behind all by herself. Despite growing up as an adoptee, surrendering a child at a very young age, and living away from her husband, Marlyee's character seems very strong and independent and I am excited to read the rest of the book!
