Upon her parents divorce, Marylee, found herself in a rebellious state. She met up with a local boy and not long after found herself pregnant. At this time, in 1971, Marylee was forced to put her son up for adoption and to be sent away herself. The story is written through a conversation she has with her son, now an adult.
