The first thing I noticed about the book was the beautiful cover and how the sunlight filtered in through the trees. Upon a closer look, it appears that person on the cover is leaving a dark, dead forest and walking into sunlight and a grove of healthy tree. I appreciate the symbolism that both hints at the memoir's story and provides hope for a better place in the ending than in the beginning.
I am excited to read this memoir, as it will probably be emotional and thought-provoking at the same time, as it asks the reader questions posed by the author's own journey.
